AnalytiChem will host a free webinar on Tuesday 17th November 2026 at 3:00pm CET / 9:00am ET, in partnership with Bioscience International and Spectral Blue. The 60-minute session, "Annex 1 in Practice: A Scenario-Based Approach to Environmental Monitoring," will explore how microbiological culture media, active air sampling and continuous disinfection technology combine within a documented, risk-based Contamination Control Strategy (CCS).

Since coming into effect in 2023, the revised version of Annex 1 of EU GMP guidelines has pushed sterile manufacturers to move beyond isolated testing points and instead build a single, integrated strategy for contamination control across the entire facility. Translating this requirement into practical, day-to-day decisions remains a significant challenge for many quality and manufacturing teams. Rather than presenting individual technologies in isolation, this webinar will use real-world scenarios to demonstrate how they fit together as part of one coherent CCS.

The session will feature three technical presentations, followed by a live Q&A with the full speaker panel. Yoggya De Silva, Product Manager for AnalytiChem's Culture Media Life Science portfolio, will address how media selection supports Annex 1-aligned environmental monitoring. Peter Pratt, CEO of Bioscience International, will examine how active air sampling technology choices should be matched to specific monitoring scenarios. Michel Schmidt, Ph.D., CEO of Spectral Blue, will discuss where continuous, multi-wavelength antimicrobial light technology fits within a modern CCS.

“Annex 1 has fundamentally changed how our industry needs to think about contamination control, moving from isolated testing points to a documented, risk-based strategy across the entire facility,” said Nico van Stallen, Segment Director Life Science & Lab Essentials, AnalytiChem. “We've designed this session around real scenarios rather than individual technologies, so quality and manufacturing teams leave with a clear view of how to apply this holistic strategy to their own facilities.”

The webinar is designed for QC microbiology professionals, environmental monitoring specialists, QA and validation professionals, manufacturing and operations leaders, and aseptic processing and sterility assurance teams working across pharmaceutical and life science manufacturing. It is free to attend and open to professionals worldwide. Registration is available at:
