Canadian Glacial Tills – back in stock soon!
After a long hiatus, we’re pleased to announce our popular Canadian glacial till Certified Reference Materials (CRMs) are coming back online. OREAS 48 and 49 and replacements for OREAS 46 and 47.
OREAS CRMs 48 and 49 are prepared from glacial till sourced from the Rainy River District in northwestern Ontario.
Derived from a mix of local Precambrian Shield bedrock including granitoid, metavolcanic and metasedimentary rocks—and Paleozoic sediments, these materials capture a broad suite of felsic to mafic lithologies. OREAS 49 includes minor additions of ore materials (BM, PGE, REE, and Li) to elevate concentrations to anomalous levels. The till’s combination of local and long-range glacial inputs makes it a reliable matrix for geochemical exploration, particularly for QAQC applications targeting background levels of gold, PGE, REE, lithium, and base metals.
