New Volcanic-Hosted Massive Sulphide CRMs
OREAS 911, 912 and 913 are new Certified Reference Materials derived from ore sourced from the Ming Lode, a classic polymetallic volcanic-hosted massive sulphide (VMS) deposit on the Baie Verte Peninsula in Newfoundland, Canada.
Formed in submarine volcanic environments, these deposits are characterized by complex, polymetallic sulphide assemblages typical of volcanic-hosted massive sulphide (VMS) systems. These CRMs are purpose-built for laboratories and exploration programs working with VMS-style mineralization, delivering robust, matrix-matched materials for multi-element analysis and greater confidence in assay results.
The source materials capture the hallmark features of VMS mineralization:
· Semi-massive to massive sulphide textures
Reflecting dynamic deposition from hydrothermal fluids, with varying sulphide abundance and grain relationships.
· Silica–sericite-altered rhyodacite host
A classic alteration assemblage associated with VMS feeder zones, contributing to both chemical and physical complexity.
· Dominant iron and copper sulphides
Pyrite and chalcopyrite form the backbone of the system, controlling much of the geochemical behaviour.
· Accessory and penalty element carriers
Including sphalerite, arsenopyrite and galena, introducing zinc, arsenic and lead into the matrix.
New Fluorite CRMs
Fluorite sits at the core of modern manufacturing and emerging technologies, with global supply concentrated in regions such as China, Mexico and Mongolia.
As demand accelerates across steelmaking, chemical production and lithium-ion battery supply chains, the need for accurate, reliable fluorine analysis has never been greater. OREAS fluorite Certified Reference Materials deliver robust, matrix-matched standards derived from real mineralisation, including material sourced from Speewah in Western Australia. Explore OREAS 780 and 782 for full product details and certificates of analysis.
